Overview

The KR VisionFrame 35 Omni 40 cm puts a camera, light, sensor, or monitor out on a freestanding 35 mm post frame, with the longest Omni reach for covering a wider work area.

It mounts to a vertical 35 mm VisionFrame post with a Super Convi clamp - the jaw grips the post and the hex receiver locks the arm's 5/8" (16 mm) stud with a spring-safety catch - then gives you a controlled Omni arm to aim the device, ending in a standard ¼"-20 screw.

The Omni gives full 360° rotation and a 90° pivot for precise aiming, with an interchangeable ball-head socket at each end and anti-slip rosettes that lock the joint so a set angle holds without creeping. A ratcheted handle makes locking quick. At 40 cm / 15.7 in it is the longest Omni in the family - choose it when workspace coverage matters more than maximum stiffness, and plan for a lighter payload than the shorter arms carry.

VisionFrame 35 is a larger prototyping and integration frame - the route for testing bigger camera-to-product geometry, taller camera positions, and multi-camera layouts before the final machine is built. The camera, light, sensor, adapter plate, and cable management are chosen separately, so you build the exact setup your scene needs.

When the inspection scene is too big for a tabletop - taller camera positions, more camera-to-product distance, a larger sample, or a conveyor-style mockup - VisionFrame 35 gives you a freestanding 35 mm post frame to build on. Clamps slide up and down the post, so you can move a camera or light to a new height without cutting a custom frame.

This is a prototyping and integration frame, not a production station. An integrator uses it to stand up larger geometry fast, prove the inspection, and show a customer. Once the layout is locked, the production path becomes a VisionCell inspection cell, a SightLink E3040 retrofit onto a real machine frame, or a custom engineered fixture.

This kit is the middle link of the chain - a Super Convi clamp grips your 35 mm VisionFrame post and the arm carries your device's ¼"-20 thread, clamp and arm included:

¼"-20 is the common camera/accessory thread. "Male" means this kit provides the screw; your device or adapter plate needs the matching female thread. If the image must stay level and can't twist on a single screw, add a locating pin or anti-rotation plate.

Omni or Super Knuckle?

Choose Omni when you want a repeatable, locked angle - its anti-slip rosettes index to a set tooth position and return to it, so a camera holds the angle you set. Choose Super Knuckle when you want fast, freehand positioning - its friction ball joints glide smoothly to any angle and lock with a single knob. They simply hold differently: the Omni for an exact, repeatable angle, the Super Knuckle for quick, free movement.

This Omni reaches 40 cm / 15.7 in and carries up to 4 kg / 8.8 lb close to the clamp - the longest Omni reach, so keep payloads modest - derating as the payload moves toward the tip or off-center. It locks to a repeatable indexed angle for static positioning and is not vibration-rated, so re-check the hold after heavy use.

  • Close-in working load: up to 4 kg / 8.8 lb.
  • Best for: lights, monitors, sensors, and accessory placement that needs to cover a wider area - and cameras when the reach is genuinely needed.

Use the longest Omni only when you need the reach. More reach means more leverage, so the 40 cm carries less and is less stiff than the shorter arms - every extra centimeter costs payload capacity and stability. The 4 kg figure is a close-in reference for the arm; usable load still depends on payload position, mounting angle, vibration, and cable pull. Secure the cable to the post before judging stability - cable drag can shift a camera even within the load range. For a camera that must hold a precise angle, prefer the 20 cm or 30 cm.

  • Confirm you have (or are buying) a 35 mm VisionFrame post for the clamp to grip - this mount is not for 16 mm VisionGrid rail, 22 mm VisionGrid tube, or 3030 / 4040 extrusion.

Does the 4 kg load apply at full reach?
